The California Transparency in Supply Chains Act

Gonnella Baking Company is committed to conducting business ethically and responsibly, both within our own operations and throughout our supply chain. We expect our employees, suppliers, and business partners to uphold high standards that promote fair labor practices, human rights, and overall social responsibility.
In accordance with the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010, Gonnella Baking Company provides the following disclosure regarding our efforts to identify and address the risks of human trafficking and slavery within our direct supply chain.

Verification

Gonnella currently has internal procedures in place to review and assess potential risks of human trafficking and slavery within our direct supply chain. These verifications are performed internally and are not conducted by a third party. As part of our supplier approval and ongoing monitoring processes, we rely on documentation provided by our Approved Suppliers to verify that they do not engage in human trafficking or slavery when producing or sourcing the materials they supply to us. All Gonnella’s suppliers operate within the United States and are therefore subject to federal, state, and local regulatory requirements prohibiting human trafficking and slavery.

Audit

Gonnella does not currently conduct formal, independent audits of suppliers to evaluate their compliance with company standards related to human trafficking and slavery. Supplier oversight is managed through our routine business interactions and internal review processes.

Certification

Gonnella does not require formal certification from our Approved Suppliers specifically regarding standards against human trafficking and slavery. However, we do require suppliers to comply with all applicable labor laws in the countries in which they operate, which aligns with Gonnella’s expectations and ethical standards.

Internal Accountability

Gonnella maintains a Business Code of Ethics that outlines our expectations for ethical behavior, legal compliance, and respect for human rights. Human trafficking and slavery violate our standards and are strictly prohibited. Employees who violate the Business Code of Ethics may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Employees may raise concerns with their immediate supervisor or escalate them to higher levels of management.

Training

Gonnella conducts onboarding training for all new employees that includes an overview of the company’s Code of Conduct and expectations for ethical and legal compliance. Employees are expected to report any concerns related to labor laws, unethical behavior, or potential human trafficking and slavery, whether observed within the company or in interactions with suppliers or contractors.
