Water stewardship is a key part of our sustainability efforts. Gonnella’s production methods are designed to minimize wastewater output, reducing our overall water usage and eliminating the need for chemical treatment. By prioritizing efficient and responsible water practices, we help conserve one of our planet’s most vital natural resources.

Gonnella is committed to reducing our environmental footprint through smart, sustainable packaging choices. We use recycled materials and eco-friendly packaging whenever possible, including corrugated boxes supplied by a partner certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative. Their responsible sourcing practices have already saved 4,890 tons of wood, preserved 890 acres of forest, reduced energy use by 15,300 million BTUs, and cut greenhouse gas emissions by 15.3 million pounds—the equivalent of removing 1,390 cars from the road. These efforts have also conserved 6.8 million gallons of water and prevented 51,000 pounds of solid waste from entering landfills, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability at every level.

We carefully select ingredient suppliers who share our commitment to responsible, ethical sourcing. The majority of our ingredients are domestically sourced, supporting local economies and reducing transportation impact. As a Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certified company, we prioritize sustainably sourced palm oil, and nearly all of our products are plant-based—reflecting our dedication to transparency, quality, and sustainability from start to finish.

At Gonnella, we recognize that how we deliver our products matters just as much as how we make them. By investing in fuel-efficient transportation, we significantly reduce our carbon footprint—cutting emissions by an estimated 1,915 tons each year. It’s one more way we’re working to operate responsibly and protect the environment for future generations. We have converted approximately 20% of our customer freight from truck to rail. Rail results in fewer greenhouse gas emissions and is 3.5x more fuel-efficient than truck transportation.

RSPO certification aims to minimize negative impacts associated with palm oil production, such as deforestation and habitat loss, while promoting positive social and economic benefits for local communities.
